Ten years after La Marató dealt with cancer in 1994, the programme once again focused its publicity and charity activity on this disease with an impressive result: 8.7 million euros was raised, exceeding all forecasts and setting a record in its 12-year history.

For the first time a single presenter, Ramon Pellicer, was in charge of the 14 hours of La Marató, programme that presented the reality of people who suffer from cancer and the challenges of scientific research in this field.

This was La Marató's year with the greatest shows of support, a resounding success that confirmed consolidation of the programme and the impact that it generates in Catalan society. Thanks to the funds obtained, 31 research projects on cancer were run, which contributed to advancing research on this disease.
