Under the Same Sky

Hamid and Fatiha are Moroccan immigrants living in Spain with their two children, 11-year-old Hanan and her brother Nur. Hamid is a journalist, who is unable to adapt to life in Spain and decides to return to Morocco to try and find work there. But his wife Fatiha has a job so she decides to stay behind with their son.

Hanan, who is sorry to see her father return alone, goes back to Morocco with him. Fatiha misses her daughter but when she tries to get her back she finds herself bogged down in a mire of legal obstacles and faced with her husband's resentment. She turns to Hanan's former teacher Sergio for help. Sergio, who shares Hanan's interest in writing, is in the middle of his own personal crisis, but the journey he embarks upon to help Fatiha will bring him both personal and creative inspiration as he discovers that we are all, in fact, immigrants seeking our separate destinies under the same sky.
