*The coordinating investigator and the research centre of this project proposed to the Board of the Fundació La Marató de 3Cat to waive the funding of two years of one of the co-ordinated subprojects and to adapt the work plan, without prejudice to the research. At the meeting of the Board held on 27 May 2021 it was agreed to amend the original sum of €398,113.75 awarded to the research project of La Marató 2016 led by the co-ordinating principal investigator Dr Josep Puig of the IDIBGI, allocating €53,352.50 corresponding to the part of the total amount of the project, which was not executed, to the purposes of the foundation. The total amount of the project remains at €344,761.25.

*In the signing of the agreement, due to the legal impossibility of transferring the first year's funds assigned to the institution managing the subproject, University of Iran, because of the legal restrictions that the European Union (EU) has imposed on the country in which the institution is located, it is not possible to make the corresponding payment to this centre. The coordinating investigator and his research centre proposed to the Board of the Fundació La Marató de 3Cat to achieve from a single research line the part of the objectives proposed for this subproject, which would become a single-centre project. At the meeting held on 23 January 2020 the Board approved the proposal and will fund the single-centre project with a budget of €197,875.00. Since the project coordinated from Teheran, with a budget of €101,413.75 can hardly be carried out; it was agreed that, if this finally is the case, this sum of €101,413.75 will be allocated to the Foundation's purposes of research and awareness-raising.
