Nit i Dia
October 2015 marks the start date for the shooting of TVC's new series, "Nit i Dia," a suspense/thriller set in Barcelona and its greater metropolitan area.
The series focuses on the everyday life of a young forensic pathologist and the challenges she confronts in trying to maintain a normal life while dealing with the harsh realities she faces daily.
Nit i Dia starts off the day that Dr. Sara Grau, a medical examiner married to a high-level corporate executive, begins undergoing fertilization treatments. That same day, while performing an autopsy on an unidentified body, she thinks she recognizes him as someone with whom she had shared a brief affair. To top off the day, the body of an old woman─apparently a serial killer's latest victim─is also brought in for examination. A series of events unfold from there which stir up the protagonist's life and the lives of those around her.
Apart from the importance of the storylines, as in all genre series, Nit i Dia is, above all, a story about characters who are constantly juggling the darkest side of life while trying to maintain a normal existence: a judge trapped between two women; a psychologist traumatized by his past; two-faced executives; and hard-core delinquents. It is also a portrait of Barcelona, with its many lights and shadows, very like the characters themselves in the series.
